Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage requirements and models for current and next-gen Radio Frequency (RF) and Infrared (IR) capabilities using MBSE tools and SysML-based design
Create architectural views such as IBDs, BDDs, Use Cases, and Functional Diagrams to support system design and development
Collaborate with HWIL engineers and system product owners to ensure MBSE models stay current, accurate, and aligned with evolving program needs
Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products
Review requirements from various sources to ensure applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products
Coordinate with configuration management and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met
Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by releasing accurate, error-free, affordable, and producible engineering designs
Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or Higher in a Technical Discipline (such as Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field)
At least 5 years of professional experience working Models-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in Cameo
At least 5 years experience with system functionality definition, including state diagrams and operational modes
Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (Creo, I-DEAS, etc.) and model-based product definition
Experience using the Cameo SysML-based modeling tool
Ability to design using Open System Architecture (OSA) principles and SysML-based tools
Familiarity with requirements tracking tools like DOORs, Cameo, or similar
Skilled in requirements generation, decomposition, and converting system needs into executable architectures
Ability to synthesize and implement system architectures across multiple HWIL systems
Knowledge of systems engineering process and lifecycle
Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis
Desired Skills:
Experience working with cross-discipline teams to derive and decompose complex requirements
Exposure to digital engineering environments (MBSE and digital twin)
Background in system-of-systems architecture and model-based design
Experience with operational modeling tools and formal verification process
Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations, including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5
