Position Summary The Accountant will play a key role in supporting the accounting and finance team, with responsibility for monthly close, cost accounting, account reconciliations, payroll, and accounts payable for one or more manufacturing plants. This role also provides back-up support for other locations as needed and includes participation in special projects.
This is a newly created position due to ongoing company growth, offering strong career development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead monthly close for one to two plants, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
Review and record inventory transactions; analyze variances and report results
Process weekly payroll through a third-party provider (Paychex or similar)
Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoice processing, three-way match, and approvals
Enter approved invoices into ERP system and process weekly check runs
Assist with year-end close and external audit reviews
Support general accounting operations such as cash application, pricing updates, reconciliations, and related tasks
Collaborate with Accounting Manager on special projects and initiatives
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
0–4+ years of accounting experience
Experience with ERP systems and general ledger management preferred
Payroll system experience (Paychex, ADP, etc.) a plus
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, report formatting)
Understanding of GAAP and accounting procedures
Manufacturing/cost accounting experience a plus
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Proactive, self-starter, and team-oriented
Working Conditions
On-site role in Pleasant Prairie, WI (not remote)
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. when handling files or materials
Minimal travel required ( Office setting with occasional exposure to production facility noise.
