Cost Accountant – Helix Linear Technologies
Helix Linear Technologies is looking for a hands‑on, curious, and collaborative Cost Accountant to support job costing, margin analysis, and accounts payable in a growing, fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in accounting who enjoys data analysis, financial modeling, and would prefer to work across departments, from finance to production. You won’t be sitting behind a screen all day; you’ll be moving around the shop floor, asking questions, understanding the “why” behind the numbers, and helping the business make smarter decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Inventory Analysis (60%)
Review and close production jobs daily to ensure costs are accurate and timely.
Analyze variances and job profitability, identify jobs over budget and partner with production to understand root causes.
Assist with cost rolls, BOM creation, and standard cost updates.
Ensure inventory costing is accurate; support weekly cycle counts and monthly physical inventory processes.
Partner with Sales, Production, Engineering, and Purchasing to investigate cost issues and recommend process improvements.
Gross Margin & Profitability Insights (25%)
Complete monthly gross margin analysis by customer, part, and product group.
Provide cost visibility to sales and leadership to help improve pricing and quoting decisions.
Help identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities to improve margins.
General Accounting & Team Support (15%)
Collaborate across departments as part of a small, nimble finance team and step in where needed.
Assist with accounts payable, entering invoices, performing 3‑way match, and resolving discrepancies with Purchasing and Receiving.
Support vendor communications and payments.
Contribute to month‑end close activities and special projects.
○Help strengthen financial processes and ensure accurate, timely reporting across the business.
What Success Looks Like
Demonstrated ability to independently manage workload, ask the right questions, and deliver accurate results without constant oversight.
Weekly job cost reviews completed and communicated with production for all jobs over designated price point.
Monthly gross margin report completed within 15 days of month‑end.
Costing coverage of at least 75–80% of total monthly sales dollars.

What You Bring
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or product‑based company.
Proficient in core accounting processes: preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month‑end close.
Experience preparing or interpreting trial balances and financial statements.
Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
You’re analytical, detail‑oriented, and excited to apply your accounting skills in a hands‑on, collaborative manufacturing environment.
