Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking Machining Tech III, Threadroll in our Carson location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities
Perform thread roll operations on Ti screw products using Waterbury, Saspi, and Hartford thread rollers Perform in-cell wash, tumble, flat roll operations and run fillet roll machines as required Conduct 1st Article and in-process inspections, use gauges to measure critical thread roll dimensions, input SPC data into computer Ability to perform visual inspection under microscope and detect issues resulting from thread rolling process to prevent rejects / PDRs Ability to follow the 3-pan system Perform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO) Assist with training and development of entry level operators Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives Follow all EHS Policies and Safety Procedures. Report all incidents immediately Ability to set-up and operate Threadroll machines and familiarity with tooling Ability to read measuring devices and interpret specifications and work instructions Understand routers and part drawings Perform dimensional inspection using QC gauges and compare results to specifications Check parts visually under microscope, sort parts Benefits / Salary

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs. (may not exceed per EHS policies) Must be able to stand for long periods of time Basic Requirements: High school diploma or GED 3 years experience operating machinery Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Preferred Qualifications: 3 years’ experience operating threadroll machinery Ability to set-up and operate multiple equipment types (i.e. pin heading, sleeve heading, pin rolling, band annealing, drilling and/or assembly) Ability to read and interpret product prints Ability to use inspection gauges and instruments About Us
