Independently performs diagnostic radiographic procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works within their scope of practice and in accordance with licensure and certification for medication administration, equipment operation, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and activities in the Radiology Department. Exercises professional judgment to maintain equipment and may perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on-call responsibilities. Essential Duties & Functions
Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures of quality as ordered by physicians or radiologists, on patients of all ages, following established protocols and evaluating image quality. Obtains clinical history and data for procedure correlation. Implements safety measures per policies; performs daily/weekly quality control. Prepares and administers contrast media following policy; practices sterile techniques. Assists radiologists in procedures and emergency treatments. Coordinates patient care to optimize satisfaction. Educates patients and families about procedures, ensuring thorough understanding. Records and verifies documentation, ensuring proper billing and signed physician orders. Maintains knowledge of emergency equipment locations and operation. Adheres to radiation safety policies. Education
Minimum: Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related Allied Health field. Additional Requirements
CPR certification within 30 days of hire. ARRT RT (R) registration required. ODH licensure required. Experience
Entry-level position; preferred one year in medical/patient care environment. Knowledge/Skills
Human anatomy knowledge. Proficient in EMR, RIS, and Image Storage systems. Understanding of radiation safety. Employment Details
