Overview
The Donor Data Assistant supports the Advancement Office by executing daily database operations, donation processing, and donor services. This role reports to the Manager of Donor Data and is responsible for hands-on data management tasks that support institutional fundraising goals. Responsibilities
Database Operations & Maintenance
Execute database management activities including correcting addresses, resolving duplicate records, requesting premiums, and generating year-end receipts Process donations into the Seminary database with accuracy and attention to detail Maintain data quality through regular cleaning and validation processes Support database security protocols and user access management as directed Assist with special database projects and data migration tasks Campaign & Platform Support
Configure online donation platform (Fundraise Up) to optimize existing and future campaigns Create new donation pages in WordPress utilizing donation plugins and CRM integrations Perform donor prospecting for Advancement officers using tools such as WealthEngine and Dataro Build donor lists and segmentation to support direct mail, email campaigns, and officer activities utilizing the CRM Support fundraising campaign execution and online giving initiatives Donor Relations & Customer Service
Review mail sent to PO Box and respond to special donor requests Provide excellent customer service to donors, including emailing or calling them to respond to their requests Process donor communications and maintain accurate interaction records Coordinate with the Business Office to handle routine donor inquiries and escalate complex issues to the Manager of Donor Data Event & Administrative Support
Support Advancement events such as golf tournaments and fundraising dinners as needed Assist with event registration systems and attendee tracking Assist the Donor Data Manager with additional projects as assigned Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel Comfortable with learning new database platforms; awareness of Studio Enterprise, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or comparable platforms preferred Accurate and fast data entry/typing skills Basic understanding of CRM systems and donor management principles Personal Attributes & Skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Able to complete repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy Flexible when managing multiple projects simultaneously Self-motivated and able to work independently under supervision Positive attitude when interacting with coworkers and DTS donors Strong customer service orientation and communication skills Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred Support for the mission of DTS and the importance of fundraising on behalf of the Seminary Entry-level position; previous experience in nonprofit, fundraising, or database management helpful but not required Working Conditions
Full-time, entry-level position eligible for benefits, including tuition assistance Standard office hours with occasional evening work during peak campaign periods Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Occasional event support requiring flexible scheduling
