Hourly wage: $22.94 - $32.26 (CSEA Range 1) Work year: 206 days, 11 months, 6 hours per day Bilingual Spanish signing incentive available (one-time, prorated) Bilingual (Spanish) stipend of $100.00 monthly Generous health benefit options (see pg 2), including several that require no employee contribution for self Job Summary
Under the supervision of a teacher or administrator, supervises students in study centers, learning centers or classrooms and provides a variety of clerical and typing work for instructional departments and/or the school office. Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Work with students in various settings to reinforce learning of material and skills initially introduced by the teacher Check and record student attendance Help English Learners with study problems as requested by certificated staff Order supplies, maintain equipment inventory, and process incoming study materials Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, field trips, etc. Type, proofread, file, and compile information for reports and summaries Assist with maintaining order and discipline in tutorial center or classroom Compose simple letters, type letters, memoranda, bulletins, reports or other materials Assist with career materials and administer language placement tests and other classroom tests as requested by a teacher Assist students in math, reading, and writing utilizing computer software programs Decorate and prepare classrooms for parent meetings and various holidays Interpret in Parent Advisory Committee meetings Translate letters and forms sent to parents Provide help to new students by informing them about school rules and policies and pairing them with a student who speaks their native language Interpret and translate for parents, students, counselors, deans, health clerk, psychologists and other staff as needed Perform other duties/skills related to the job description as assigned Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent Two years college (48 semester units) Experience working with teenagers preferred Ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions Ability to type and operate basic office equipment Ability to work with students in various settings to reinforce learning of material and skills initially introduced by the teacher Ability to perform clerical duties such as filing, duplicating, maintaining routine records, operating basic office equipment, and utilizing basic computer skills Contacts
