This position is responsible for one‑on‑one exercise prescription and instruction based on the department’s set formats and guidelines. Job Category:

No Essential Job Functions
Administer and evaluate client health history questionnaires and sub‑maximal physiological testing to determine appropriate individual exercise/activity programs. Conduct fitness assessments and consultations to determine client needs and goals. Plan and implement standard and specialized exercise regimens, and/or post‑rehabilitative exercise programs in response to assessed individual's needs, capabilities, and goals. Maintain detailed and accurate training records for each session to track progress. Ensure that clients adhere to all safety and injury prevention policies. Provide clients with health and fitness information according to national fitness guidelines and recommendations. Motivate, support, and provide expertise in accordance with client goals. Perform equipment orientations when scheduled. Perform secondary facility and equipment management responsibilities as delegated. Maintain current Personal Training and CPR / First Aid certification. Attend all staff meetings and/or trainings as scheduled. Complete other relevant duties as assigned. Job Requirements
Hold national personal trainer certification; ACSM/ACE/NSCA/NASM/AFAA preferred, others accepted at Director’s review. Exhibit working knowledge of kinesiology, biomechanics, anatomy and physiology, and exercise physiology. Understand the principles of strength training, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and functional movement. Must complete an in‑house audition. Hold current CPR/FA certification. Previous training experience with all participant levels preferred. Ability to explain exercises clearly, provide feedback, and listen to client needs and concerns. Skilled at delivering both verbal and visual cues to guide proper movement and form. Physical Requirements
Physically perform and model exercises with correct form. Ability to manage individual sessions. Adhere to ethical standards, maintain client confidentiality, and uphold a clean and safe training environment. Speech Recognition – Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person. Speech Clarity – Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you. Near Vision – Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). May be required to work nights or weekends. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards. Required Certifications/Licensures
CPR/FA certification. Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Required Experience
Certified Personal Trainer ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NASM, or AFAA. One (1) year of experience providing personal training and working with exercise equipment. Seniority level
