Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of History at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position ( #126250 ) in Japanese or Chinese history (any time period) at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026. Key Responsibilities Teach courses in the history of Japan and China to undergraduate students. Contribute to graduate programs. Teach courses in the general education curriculum. Work with campus partners. Maintain an active research agenda. While research expertise in both Chinese and Japanese is not required, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses for majors in both fields. Required Education A terminal degree in history or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
