shift and an every-third-weekend rotation. The starting base rate of pay for the position is $22.50. Candidates with experience may be offered a higher rate of pay. About This Position:

Are you looking to experience a range of different units at UMMC? The NST Float Pool offers this opportunity! You will float to 15 different units with various specialties. The University of Minnesota Medical Center is an integrated academic health care system located on both the East and West banks of the UMMC campus in Minneapolis. It is the flagship facility of Fairview, providing advanced medicine and redefining community health. The Nursing Station Technician (NST) is a hybrid role combining Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator responsibilities to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties. Working under the supervision of a professional nurse, you will demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting in patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining rooms, reordering and stocking supplies, answering phones, processing admissions, discharges, and transfers, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts, and ordering tests. Required Qualifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification is required. OnTrack participants must be able to obtain BLS certification upon completing the OnTrack program. AND Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program. OR Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting (e.g., Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant, or Emergency Room Technician). OR Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, with at least one semester of clinical rotation completed. OR Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This certification does not need to be maintained throughout employment or if transferring into another Nursing Assistant or related position.
