The Boys Varsity Assistant Soccer Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for supporting the Boys varsity soccer team. This position assists the head varsity coach with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques. It also helps foster appreciation for physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in soccer. This role requires travel and work on weekends and evenings. Work Requirements
The Assistant Boys Soccer coach must demonstrate high standards of professionalism and communication. He or she must be well organized, flexible, and able to work with high school students. This person must interact with students, parents, and staff, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Functions & Responsibilities Help coordinate and supervise the Boys Varsity Soccer program. Ensure Branson and League policies, rules and regulations regarding athletic activities and athletes are followed. Work with the Head Coach and Athletic Department to plan and organize practices and game schedules. Maintain a safe environment for student athletes at all times. Help ensure regular supervision of student athletes at home and away games and ensure appropriate behavior. Ensure student athletes adhere to training rules, class and grade requirements, and rules of behavior on the court, in conditioning, and in the locker room. Interact thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, and officials; resolve conflicts professionally. Professionally represent Branson in all interactions with the community at large. Ensure proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms. Make recommendations regarding purchases of uniforms, equipment, and supplies; manage inventory. Maintain necessary records and complete Paycom timecard within specified timeframes. Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required. Attend work regularly and be punctual for practices and games. Obtain advance approval from the Athletic Director for all team-related expenditures. Manage other duties as assigned. Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. One to two years of experience as a soccer coach. CPR Certified through American Red Cross. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize. Experience working and communicating with diverse groups of people. Ability to act professionally and keep students’ records confidential. Ability to make decisions and handle conflicts. Problem-solving skills and creativity. Physical Requirements
Heavy work; exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Must be able to assist with athletes of various weights and heights. Must be able to stand for long periods, have good mobility, and walk long distances. Must be able to carry training kit and coolers for long distances. Use strength to lift items, moving objects from lower to higher positions or horizontally. Must be able to bend at hips and knees.
