Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist
Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Location: Kirkland, WA - onsite Job Description The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will play a critical role in supporting, developing, and enhancing EHS compliance and risk management processes. This position focuses on driving understanding and engagement to improve EHS performance within the organization. The EHS Specialist will execute compliance programs, facilitate training, and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
Seeking EHS Engineers with 1+ year of professional experience in a manufacturing setting for swing/night shifts.
Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of EHS programs, tools, and standards in alignment with global EHS policies.
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve compliance and best practices.
Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational diseases and industrial health hazards.
Promote EHS awareness through effective employee communication and participation.
Serve as the key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.
Support regulated waste management, including consolidation and inspections.
Conduct compliance tasks such as storm water sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits.
Execute compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
Support and conduct EHS audits, develop action plans, and implement countermeasures effectively.
Perform risk assessments and Job Hazard Analysis for new processes and equipment.
Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for reporting.
Recommend risk mitigation measures, including ergonomics.
Establish and manage the safety committee.
Drive continual improvement efforts to reduce site safety and environmental risk.
Support site stand-up meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field, or relevant experience.
1+ years’ experience in EHS support, particularly in warehousing.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and personnel issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in health and safety within a manufacturing plant.
Knowledge of EHS regulations and risk assessment techniques.
Work Environment The role is based in Kirkland and requires flexibility to work any shifts, nights, and weekends. The work schedule involves 4-day, Back Half Nights (4pm to 2:30am). Candidates must be able to lift up to 49 pounds and stand or walk for up to 10 hours.
Job Type & Location This is an onsite position based out of Kirkland, Washington.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
