Job Description:
The position assists the Conservation District(s), farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural producers in the development of a comprehensive natural resource conservation program. Duties: Responsible for the overall management of agricultural resources, the formulation and implementation of soil and water conservation plans for all out grants and providing guidance and assistance to landowners. Work with landowners on collection and analysis to identify problems, determine objectives, inventory resources, and analyze resources. Partner with the state conservation partnership to provide long-term commitment to the local, state and federal government conservation delivery system to help private landowners, communities and others conserve natural resources within the state. Responsible for supervision of federal employees. Independently ensures quality and quantity of work, reviews work of subordinates and accepts, revises, or rejects work. Sets performance standards and evaluates performance for subordinates. Qualifications: Please refer to the

However, promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. Basic Requirement: Degree:
Bachelor's or higher degree in soil conservation or related agricultural or natural resource discipline such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, agricultural education, or agricultural engineering. The study must have included 30 semester hours in a natural resource or agricultural field, including at least 12 semester hours in a combination of soils and crops or plant science. Of the 12 semester hours, a minimum of 3 semester hours must have been in soils and 3 semester hours in crops or plant science. (You must submit transcripts.) In addition to meeting one of the Basic Requirements listed above, applicants must meet the following Minimum Qualifications Requirement in order to be considered: To qualify at the

grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience:
One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties: Working with landowners to develop, maintain and implement conservation plans; Collaborating with landowners to address natural resources concerns; Interpreting land use potential and deficiencies. To qualify at the

grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience:
One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties: Modifying and adapting natural resource processes and procedures; Providing technical advice regarding natural resource conservation measures such as waterways, water control structures, or agricultural waste management; Recommending natural resource management strategies; Administering and managing natural resource contracting activities.
