Project Engineers work directly for the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, or Estimators. This may require hands-on training and working with your tools. Duties And Responsibilities

Update project schedules as required. Assist the Project Manager with purchase orders, submittal reviews and preparation. Maintain job files, submittal logs, request for information, change and field orders. Verify field measurements for material fabrication and expedite deliveries. Spare parts transfer. Attend meetings with subcontractors, engineers and owners. Remain current on safety standards and provide knowledge & feedback. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Assist in estimating responsibilities. Maintain daily jobsite and production logs, daily/weekly records of deliveries, stored materials, equipment hours, and other logs. Maintain as-built drawings and specifications. Act as intermediary between field workers and Superintendent. Take part in construction activities as frequently as possible while maintaining other listed responsibilities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Educational background - preferably a Bachelor’s degree, at a minimum, in the fields of civil engineering, environmental engineering and/or construction management (Field working experience may be considered without a degree). Prior internship or Co-op experience is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage priorities, workflow and handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

Frequent travel by car; Proof of insurance and a clean DMV record may be required. Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud. May be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment when in the field. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; sit; talk and hear. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to safely work with sharp tools and/or power equipment. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
