Overview

St. Rose High School, a Catholic, co-educational high school located in Belmar, NJ, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach. This is a Part-time, Spring Season position for the 2025-2026 school year. Responsibilities

Advise, coordinate, and support a staff of assistant coaches in conjunction with the Athletic Director. Organize staff and practices; supervise student-athletes during practices, games, buses, and locker rooms. Communicate effectively with students, parents, other coaches, and the Athletic Director. Instruct student-athletes in proper techniques, conditioning, and sportsmanship; foster a positive and inclusive team culture. Ensure compliance with school policies, regulations, and applicable athletic associations; oversee safety conditions of the facility and maintain related documentation. Attend meetings, clinics, and professional development as time and resources permit. Distribute guidelines and rules for assistant coaches, student-athletes, and managers to follow regarding the program. Qualifications

Head coaching experience at the high school level is preferred, but not required. Minimum of 3 years of high school assistant coaching experience required. Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with technology, social media, and marketing. Minimum of 60 college credits. Hold or be able to obtain a Monmouth County substitute certificate. In-depth knowledge of lacrosse techniques, strategies, and rules; ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. Certification, Registration Or Licensure Required

Appropriate certification is required; all coaches may be required to attend a parent orientation event organized by the school as part of coaching obligations. Positions are contingent on enrollment and student needs. Coaching experience preferred, but not required. Must be available daily during the sports season. Must be certified in CPR as per NJSIAA regulations; all first-year coaches must be certified in CPR and First Aid. Meet alternatives as determined by the Principal and Athletic Director. Complete the Diocese of Trenton’s VIRTUS training and obtain Fingerprint/Background Check Clearance before starting work. NJSIAA Coaching Certification and Regulations

Coaches must meet all applicable interscholastic coaching requirements as defined by state and district regulations. All new coaches must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching online, with additional components required for eligibility; must submit certificate of completion. Coaches must hold current CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certificates; concussion and heat illness prevention training are required annually. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

Ability to schedule activities, manage data, and communicate with diverse groups; demonstrate safe and effective use of equipment; maintain accurate records. Knowledge of algebra/geometry concepts as applicable to program planning and communications; ability to facilitate group discussions and training methodologies. Working Conditions

Physical demands include occasional lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and significant fine motor work; typical balance of sitting, walking, and standing. Work in a safe and healthy athletic environment with emphasis on fair play, good sportsmanship, and cooperation among member schools. Application Procedure

Pending budget availability. The successful candidate must complete the Diocese of Trenton’s VIRTUS training and obtain Fingerprint/Background Check Clearance before starting work. Evaluation Procedure

The Director of Athletics will complete a written evaluation for each coach at the conclusion of each season; a conference between the coach and Director will determine status for the following season. Primary duties include organizing staff and practices, communicating with stakeholders, adhering to policies, supervising student-athletes, developing conditioning and skill fundamentals, and promoting sportsmanship. Attend in- and out-of-district meetings and clinics as time and resources permit; prepare and distribute program guidelines for coaches and athletes. Oversee safety conditions of the playing environment and submit work orders as needed. Equal Opportunity
