Overview

Mathematics Teacher (Grades 4 - 8) at iLearn Schools. Under the general supervision of the School Director, facilitates student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing educational needs of individual students, and creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment. Provides feedback to students, parents and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals. Responsibilities

Develops and administers school middle school mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. Designs and delivers mathematics instruction in compliance with the iLearn Schools mission and vision for teaching and learning of mathematics. Equips students with mathematical content and the Standards for Mathematical Practice to support cross-curricular application and college/career readiness. Creates a safe, supportive environment for individualized and small-group instruction; uses ongoing assessment to tailor instructional methods to student needs, including students with special needs. Develops lesson plans and materials; translates plans into learning experiences that optimize instructional time. Maintains accurate records of student progress, grading, and reporting as required by district procedures and laws; promotes parental involvement and effective communication with students and families. Coordinates with middle school staff to evaluate and assess curriculum; participates in faculty meetings and committees. Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs. Requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids, and equipment; maintains inventory records. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the School Director and administrators as designated by the Superintendent. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s preferred. New Jersey Certification (CE, CEAS) with subject matter specialization in Mathematics; for grades 4-5, NJ Certification (K-6) with Mathematics interest; for grades 6-8, NJ Certification with Subject Matter Specialization: Mathematics or Teacher of Mathematics. Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with proper grammar and vocabulary. Working knowledge of technology for word processing, data management, presentations, and communication. Knowledge of child growth and development, differentiation, middle school curriculum, data analysis, and applicable laws regarding education and students. Ability to engage in self-evaluation and professional growth; knowledge of current teaching methods and differentiated instruction. Ability to establish cooperative relationships with parents, students and staff; experience collaborating with colleagues. Background checks and health certification as required by law and district policies. Requirements / Environmental Conditions
