Husson University
The Assistant Golf Coach will assist the Head Golf Coach in instructing students on sport fundamentals, sportsmanship, leadership, film analysis, scouting, recruiting, academic and conduct monitoring, and strength and conditioning.
Examples of duties include:
Coaching responsibilities as assigned by the head coach, including instructing students on sport fundamentals, goal setting, expectation management, and providing feedback.
Assist in organizing, preparing, and coaching the Husson Golf Team, including attendance at practices, scrimmages, and matches.
Recruitment and scouting off-campus, including attendance at pre-season training.
Implement principles and policies of athletic governing bodies (NCAA / NAC / ECAC) and Husson University.
Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and provide guidance to ensure academic success.
Monitor conduct and promote teamwork among athletes.
Assist with recruiting activities such as campus tours, phone calls, and off-campus viewing.
Assist in teaching strength and conditioning and provide general team instruction.
Meet regularly with the head coach regarding instruction, training, scrimmages, matches, and recruiting.
Handle all assignments related to the golf program under the supervision of the head coach.
Qualifications include:
B.A. or B.S. degree and/or PGA Member.
Proven experience in playing or coaching at high school or intercollegiate levels.
Coaching licenses, certifications, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of golf rules and ability to assist with swings and short game.
Experience with Front Rush recruiting software and creating film sessions for individuals and teams.
Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, coaching staff, student-athletes, and community members.
The work environment includes outdoor weather conditions during practices and matches.
