Assembly Operator Lead
nVent seeks an experienced leader to drive daily excellence on the assembly line, ensuring high quality, safety, and continuous improvement while mentoring production staff.
In This Position
Provide support to the production supervisor and lead all aspects of the daily assembly line operations.
Recruit, coach, and coordinate workers on the line, filling positions as needed to maintain flow.
Apply company and departmental policies, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Operate a variety of equipment, including CRTs, forklifts, and other line tools.
Coordinate timely and accurate movement of materials in and out of the assigned work area.
Champion a continuous‑improvement culture by involving employees in problem‑solving and decision‑making.
Monitor assembly processes, conduct inspections, and resolve defects or issues.
Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining the highest level of quality.
Provide guidance and feedback to production staff on performance, quality, safety, and procedures.
Report equipment or material malfunctions to the Production Supervisor and assist with troubleshooting.
Maintain accurate, timely records of production data: output, waste, defects, inventory, labor hours, and downtime.
Participate in cross‑training and cross‑functional activities to broaden skills and support other production areas.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environment, and hygiene regulations.
You Have
Minimum 2 years of direct experience in a manufacturing/production team lead role or equivalent.
Solid understanding of mechanical repairs or troubleshooting.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Leadership, collaboration, initiative, integrity, and professionalism.
Ability to explain job expectations to staff and achieve desired results through guidance.
Adaptability to rapidly changing business circumstances.
Experience in operator training on standard work, machine adjustments, and quality controls.
Collaboration with cross‑functional teams to prioritize production and streamline workflow.
Accountability for attendance, punctuality, and disciplinary issues.
Lean mindset: drive waste reduction throughout the department.
