Senior Quality Technician - 2nd Shift, Project Kuiper at Amazon. Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Key responsibilities

Lead and conduct complex inspections of components, assemblies, and systems during various stages of production to verify conformance with engineering specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Utilize precision measuring instruments and advanced testing equipment to perform dimensional and visual inspections with high accuracy. Document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and prepare detailed analytical reports for management review. Identify non-conforming products, clearly articulate the non-conformance, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to guarantee accuracy and reliability of measurements. Develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) for in-process inspections. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and supply chain to address quality concerns and implement preventive measures. Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior inspectors and production personnel on quality-related topics and inspection techniques. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality metrics and KPIs. Lead root cause analysis for quality issues using methodologies such as 5 Whys and Ishikawa diagrams. Shift times

The Quality Team at Project Kuiper leads critical inspection duties within the Manufacturing Quality organization. As a Quality Tech III, you will ensure the quality and compliance of products throughout the manufacturing process while mentoring junior team members and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Basic qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. 3+ years of combined experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering roles. Experience with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Experience reading/interpreting engineering drawings or schematics. Experience using measurement tools and inspection equipment. Experience with quality management systems and documentation. Preferred qualifications

Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and 8D problem-solving methodologies. Experience with GD&T and inspection protocols. Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems. Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design software. Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or in progress); SPC and MSA experience. Experience training or mentoring other personnel; demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams. Equal opportunity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is $63,400 to $104,600 per year, with potential additional compensation such as equity or sign-on payments as part of a total package.
