Responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides nurse/clinician with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythm. Monitors heart rhythm patterns to detect, record, and report normal/abnormal heart patterns, normal/abnormal ECG interval measurements and proper/improper pacemaker or implantable defibrillator function utilizing telemetry equipment. Shift & Schedule

Full-time, Nights, 7:00pm-7:00am Essential Functions / Performance Expectations

Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns and variances. Observes cardiac monitor and notifies the nursing and/or medical staff of any abnormal heart rhythm variances. Manages telemetry equipment and supplies. Must successfully complete a competency examination as defined by department competency requirements for Telemetry Monitor Technicians. Obtain certification as a monitor technician by an approved organization to be designated MT II. Certification is the Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) certification. Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent Associates degree or higher preferred Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Monitor Tech II: national certification in telemetry required Physical Requirements
