Position Summary Ashley seeks a Senior AI Engineer to join Ashley Furniture and build production‑ready agentic systems that transform how we operate across our supply chain, manufacturing, and retail experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Build Agentic Systems: Design and implement AI agents that handle complex, multi‑step workflows across various business domains. Create agents that can reason about data patterns, make autonomous decisions, and coordinate with other systems to achieve business objectives.

Develop AI‑Powered Solutions: Build intelligent systems that understand user preferences and business constraints. Implement MCP servers and clients that enable LLMs to interact seamlessly with various platforms and data sources.

Ship Production Features: Own the full development lifecycle from prototype to production deployment. Build robust systems that handle thousands of daily interactions with proper error handling, monitoring, and human‑in‑the‑loop controls for critical decisions.

Integrate with External Systems: Design and maintain integrations with various business platforms and data sources. Build reliable data pipelines that feed real‑time information to AI agents.

Optimize for Performance and Scale: Ensure AI systems can handle enterprise‑scale workloads with sub‑second response times. Implement efficient vector search, caching strategies, and asynchronous processing for high‑throughput scenarios.

Qualifications

Hands‑on experience with modern AI frameworks: Proficiency with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agent orchestration frameworks. Experience building RAG systems with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma).

Production system expertise: You understand how to build reliable, scalable systems. Experience with Python and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with API design, message queues, and distributed systems.

Domain knowledge: Understanding of business operations and data workflows. You can translate business requirements into technical solutions.

LLM integration experience: Experience working with OpenAI, Anthropic, or other LLM APIs. Understanding of prompt engineering, context engineering for optimal retrieval, and multi‑modal capabilities. Experience with fine‑tuning or post‑training of language models.

Vision and multimodal AI expertise: Experience with vision models and multimodal systems for image recognition and generation. Familiarity with generative use cases such as virtual furniture placement, room visualization, and computer vision applications for spatial understanding.

Agent integration expertise: Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementations and agent‑to‑agent communication patterns. Understanding of multi‑agent coordination and workflow orchestration.

Nice to Have

Previous work on recommendation systems or personalization engines

Familiarity with real‑time systems and event‑driven architectures
