The Full-Stack Developer will provide direct support to NATO ACT’s digital transformation, software engineering, and DevSecOps modernization initiatives. The role focuses on designing and implementing containerized applications that align with NATO’s Digital Transformation Implementation Strategy, Data Exploitation Implementation Plan, and DevSecOps best practices. The contractor will collaborate with ACT technical teams, product owners, and data scientists to deliver modern, resilient, and scalable applications. Work requires integration with NATO Command Structure and Force Structure systems and will contribute to ongoing efforts in software modernization, cloud adoption, and secure data-driven decision-making across NATO. Tasking: Build containerized application tools following the 12-Factor App methodology, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Extreme Programming (XP). Develop products as part of a balanced agile team (Product Manager, Product Owner, UI/UX Designer, Data Scientists, etc.). Design and implement REST APIs and microservices architecture. Develop full-stack solutions using modern JavaScript, Python, and/or Java frameworks: a. Perform front-end development (e.g., React, Angular); b. Perform back-end development (e.g., Node.js, Django/Flask, SpringBoot). Conduct database design and programming (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Deploy containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift. Work in a collaborative, pair-programming environment as needed. Rapidly learn and apply new programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Support creation of sustainable DevSecOps pipelines and agile delivery practices. Mandatory Qualifications
Candidate and Company nationality of one of the NATO member countries. Minimum 4 years of experience in full-stack development using JavaScript, Python, or Java. Minimum 4 years of experience in front-end development (React, Angular, etc.) and/or back-end development (Node.js, Django/Flask, SpringBoot, etc.). Minimum 4 years of experience in database design/programming (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.). Experience in REST API design and development. Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD). Experience in microservices architecture. Experience deploying containerized applications with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift. Experience working in collaborative, agile teams. Experience delivering iterative releases in an Agile/DevSecOps environment. Fluent in English (oral and written) at SLP 3333 or equivalent. Desired Qualifications
Experience in delivery of agile software products for NATO or national equivalents. Experience in the creation and sustainment of DevSecOps pipelines. Experience supporting digital transformation projects in complex, multinational environments. Education and Clearance
