is hiring Contract Specialists to support federal contracting for the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service. These full-time, primarily remote roles involve managing pre-award and post-award activities across construction and architect-engineer contracts. Ideal candidates will have strong federal contracting experience and a solid understanding of FAR regulations. Position: Contract Specialist Location: Remote Clearance: NACI Duties include: Perform pre-award and post-award contracting tasks to support Contracting Officers at the U.S. Department of Interior National Park Service for the life cycle of federal contracts, including: Pre-Award: Acquisition planning and market research to determine the appropriate contracting approach Preparing and issuing Solicitations, Requests For Proposal, and Requests For Quotes Participate in coordination of source selection evaluation panels for technical and cost/price evaluations Post-Award: Process contract award documents for execution by Contracting Officers Perform contract administration tasks, including payments; modifications; maintain contract files; review contractor payroll reports for compliance with DOL wage determinations; contractor performance reports; evaluate contractor price adjustment proposals; etc. Contract closeouts Education Requirements: 4-year Bachelor degree with a major in any field (business-related major preferred) 24-semester hours in Business subjects Experience: Minimum: 5 years in federal Contracting (Pre-Award & Post-Award activities) 5 years in federal Construction contracting under FAR Part 36 (Pre-Award & Post-Award) 3 years in federal Architect-Engineer contracting under FAR Part 36 (Pre-Award & Post-Award) Good knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation Note: Will consider experience in non-federal Construction contracting and Architect-Engineer contracting that is equal to contracting activities under FAR Part 36 Preferred: Experience as GS-7, GS-9 or higher grade in 1102 Contracting Series in position of Contract Specialist, Contract Administrator, or Contracting Officer. Qualifications/Certifications: Current CPCM or CFCM certification from National Contracts Management Association DAWIA certification in Contracting within the last 10 years or FAC-C certification within the last 10 years Completion of Defense Acquisition University (or equivalent education provider) training courses in Contracting (Pre-Award & Post-Award), Construction contracting and Architect-Engineer contracting Special Conditions: Individual must be a U.S. Citizen Physical Demands: This position is primarily remote and involves standard office-based tasks performed via computer and phone. The physical demands are minimal and include: Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Occasional lifting of office supplies or documents up to 10 pounds. Regular use of email, video conferencing, and other digital communication tools. Work Environment: The work environment is professional and virtual, with optional onsite work at OSI’s corporate office in Fayetteville, NC. No travel to government locations is required.
