Join the School of Medicine’s Shared Research Administration Resource Group as a Grants and Contracts Administrator and become a collaborative team member. In this fast‑paced, collaborative role, you’ll partner with top‑tier faculty to develop and manage grant proposals, navigate complex funding requirements, and ensure financial integrity across research portfolios. Responsibilities

Pre‑award activities: Assist departmental faculty/PI in developing, preparing, and submitting grant and contract proposals. Ensure all applications and contracts meet agency and university guidelines, published time tables, and deadlines. Enter and route proposals in a timely manner for further review. Post‑award activities: Conduct detailed reconciliation of assigned project budgets, prepare complex budget reports, and revise or adjust project budgets to meet project goals and federal requirements. Monitor compliance with agency and university regulations regarding reporting. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the position. Master’s degree is preferred. Experience: No experience required for candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Preferred pre‑award or post‑award experience. Knowledge: Federal rules and regulations, Duke University policies and procedures related to research grants and contracts. Skills: Analyze data, learn changing technologies, use MS Office Suite, communicate verbally and in writing, manage multiple projects simultaneously, understand federal rules and university rules for effort allocation and costing. Training: Complete Duke Human Research Training, Financial Services Introduction to R3, Introduction to Duke GL, Introduction to Accounting, Sponsored Research Reporting, Research Administration at Duke, Basic Compliance, Budget Development and Negotiation Training, and Industry Funded Clinical Research—Process for Contracts within first six months of hire. Work Arrangement

This position has the option to be 100% remote. Candidates must reside in one of the approved states for remote work. Anticipated Pay Range

USD $59,829.00 to $96,900.00. Benefits
