Overview Job Title: Audiology Assistant. Location: Mayo Clinic Healthcare London. FTE: 0.9 (36 hours/week). Salary: $21.15 - $29.63 per hour.

Responsibilities Audiology assistants work under supervision of licensed audiologists in a variety of capacities within Mayo Clinic’s audiology division. Responsibilities include helping to assess hearing in young children, screening newborn babies for early signs of hearing loss, performing basic hearing assessment on adults, stocking and maintaining patient care areas, supporting hearing aid and cochlear implant practices by scheduling appointments, troubleshooting devices, answering phones, ordering new devices and equipment, and collecting payments. The current position is primarily dedicated to assisting with hearing assessments for young children and older patients who may require non-conventional test methods, including teaching patients to look toward a sound source and directing their attention forward between sounds using a variety of toys, turning assessments into a game for older children, and adapting strategies based on feedback from the patient, audiologist, and family. The assistant also screens hearing of newborn babies at Methodist Hospital one day per week and may evolve to support other specialties within audiology as the clinic grows.

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED, and two years of patient care experience. Possible experience may include duties such as patient service representative, clinical assistant, or nursing assistant. Prior experience working with children between 6 months and 5 years of age is ideal.

Schedule Full Time. Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:30PM, .9 FTE with some flexibility with .1 FTE time off. No scheduled weekends. International Assignment: No.
