at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for an

Open Rank Academic Investigator . The successful candidate will support research efforts to reduce vision-threatening eye disease, develop new concepts in understanding the mechanisms of ocular disease, independently carry out experiments, and contribute to the mission of vision science. They will serve as a resource and mentor for the research group and play an active role in the education and training of research fellows, laboratory staff, and medical students. Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience. This position will remain open until filled, with review of applications beginning at the end of August. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required before employment. Qualifications
