Anatomy and/or Physiology Adjunct Instructor (TEMPORARY) – The Biology Department at Contra Costa College is hiring part-time instructors to teach Human Anatomy (BIOSC 132, 4 units) and Human Physiology (BIOSC 134, 4 units). Provide classroom instruction in accordance with approved course outlines. Inform students concerning course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance requirements. Maintain necessary attendance, scholastic, and personnel records, and submit them according to published guidelines. Prepare and grade classroom assignments and examinations, and inform students of their academic progress. Meet with students outside of class as needed. Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas and fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member. Maintain accurate academic records and perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Qualifications

Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students, staff and faculty. EDUCATION :

The applicant must possess ONE of the following qualifications: A Master’s Degree in any biological science. A Bachelor’s Degree in any biological science plus a Master’s Degree in biochemistry, biophysics or marine science, or an MD, DVM or other doctorate degree. The equivalent. If you meet minimum qualifications via equivalency, complete the Master’s Degree Discipline Equivalency form in the application packet. Desirable Qualifications

Experience teaching biological science at the community college level. Experience teaching Human Anatomy with human cadavers. Experience teaching Human Physiology with wet lab preparations (e.g., frog physiology). Experience with technology-enhanced/remote education platforms. Supplemental Information
