Assistant Controller – National Manufacturing Firm
Location: Cleveland, TN
Salary: $105,000–$120,000 + 15% bonus
Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 8am–5pm (on-site at plant, some flexibility to work from home a few days per month as needed)
Our client, a growing national manufacturing company is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their plant finance team. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role supporting the Controller and helping drive financial planning, reporting, and capital management.
What You’ll Get To Do Provide heavy financial and analytical support to the Controller, including cost analysis, monthly P&L forecasting, and KPI management Partner with operations and project teams to plan, track, and execute capital projects ($10–20M annually), including preparing capital expenditure returns, monitoring spend, and forecasting cost savings Assist with annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Support month‑end and year‑end close, including annual physical inventory and cost roll processes Collaborate with multiple functions across the plant, communicating financial insights and recommendations to both operational and executive teams Facilitate and track cost savings initiatives, ensuring financial accountability across projects
What You Need To Succeed 4–6+ years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience, ideally in manufacturing Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and capital project management CPA preferred but not required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Excellent communication and leadership skills – comfortable collaborating across teams and driving projects Self‑motivated, driven, and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
