Senior Merchant Sales Officer

First Merchants Corporation . First Merchants Bank is seeking a Senior Merchant Sales Officer to join our team. This position will effectively sell merchant card processing services to new clients. Responsibilities
Drive revenue through the promotion and selling of merchant solutions. Use a blended approach of personal prospecting and partnering to develop internal and external referrals. Lead training and education for the Merchant team through mentorship and job shadowing. Independently manage pricing strategies and deliverables. Serve as a back-up for pricing reviews and client structuring. Manage the sales process including the creation of sales materials and proposals for clients and prospects. Provide updates related to the Merchant industry, product set changes, vendor enhancements, technical issues, and outages, as necessary. Remain current on product, industry, and technical merchant processing knowledge and regulatory changes. Actively partner with, train, and educate partner lines of business on merchant products and solutions offered. Prepare weekly/monthly sales and activity reports for leadership using established tracking solutions. Review and manage merchant client account activity to ensure profitability and healthy client relationships. Conduct annual review of merchant client files; partner with Consumer, Treasury Management and Commercial Bankers to identify cross-sell opportunities. Utilize prospecting tools to self-source sales opportunities within the existing banks book of business (e.g., ACH incoming reports). Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business, marketing or a related field of study. Minimum of five (5) years of related merchant sales, banking, B2B sales and/or business development experience. Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field of study. Benefits
