Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times.
Plan and provide a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
Write daily lesson plans with objectives and activities supporting those objectives.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
Demonstrate adequate control over student behavior.
Guide the learning process towards district/site goals and establish clear objectives for lessons and units, communicating these to students.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques suited to the physical location and student needs.
Plan lessons reflecting goals from the district curriculum guide.
Select, develop, and employ appropriate evaluative techniques with fairness and consistency.
Diagnose students' learning abilities regularly, seeking district specialist assistance as needed.
Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
Maintain accurate records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
Evaluate students periodically to provide accurate assessments at grading periods.
Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct.
Develop classroom behavior rules and maintain order fairly and justly.
Supervise and evaluate teacher aides and volunteers, and collaborate with other supervisors.
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Comply with building and district policies.
Maintain positive relationships with staff and the community.
