Overview The Safety & Security Advisor will create and maintain a safe and secure environment for students and staff at the Phoenix Job Corps Center. The role involves accident investigation, safety inspections, enforcement of regulations, and collaboration with campus staff to support student development.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a safe living and working environment for students and staff.
Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.
Conduct routine safety inspections and assessments of all Center equipment and facilities.
Enforce occupational safety and health regulations and standards.
Conduct center-wide security tours and assist with student monitoring and supervision.
Respond to emergency situations and enforce visitor control and student accountability.
Assist dorm staff with inspections, searches for contraband, and maintain facility cleanliness.
Produce quality work and complete assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet goals and deadlines.
Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards for the student population.
Provide high-quality supervision and management to positively influence student behavior.
Maintain quality programs, pursue improvement and enhancement, and share relevant ideas with staff.
Collaborate across departments to ensure effective supervision and services for students.
Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director, Duty Officer, or Shift Manager.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced degrees preferred.
Experience with Job Corps or related programs preferred.
Valid in-State Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.
Physical requirements: sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling/pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Able to lift 40 pounds or assess lift load and request assistance.
