Role Description
Part‑Time Workshop Artist (On‑Site)
Location: Paint Cohoes Gallery and Studio, 144 Remsen St Cohoes, NY
Seeking a energetic Artist to lead fun, creative workshops and classes at Paint Cohoes. The instructor will plan lessons, set up and break down the space, teach and engage participants, and ensure a positive, safe studio experience.
Key Responsibilities
– Design and lead hands‑on workshops and group classes (materials, lesson plans, timing). Set up classroom/station materials and equipment before each session; break down and clean up after. Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and one‑on‑one guidance to participants of varying skill levels. Foster an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere and manage class flow and safety. Source, prepare, and track workshop materials and supplies as needed. Promote upcoming classes during events and assist with basic registration/check‑in when required. Maintain an organized workspace and follow gallery standards for tools and materials. Qualifications
– Strong teaching and communication skills; comfortable instructing groups. Proficiency in relevant mediums used for workshops (e.g., acrylics, watercolor, mixed media). Experience planning lesson plans or workshop curricula. Reliable, punctual, and able to perform setup/breakdown tasks (lifting, arranging tables/chairs). Friendly, patient, and engaging with participants of all ages/skill levels. Previous experience teaching classes or leading community art programs preferred. Availability for evenings/weekends as workshops require.
