Overview
The School of Human Ecology at Tennessee Tech University invites candidates to apply for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenurable faculty position at the rank of Lecturer to begin August 1, 2026. This full-time contract is renewable every three years. The School of Human Ecology seeks candidates committed to innovative teaching and creative service. Responsibilities
Major/Essential Functions: Teaching four classes per semester, including design labs or studios, and meaningful service to the university, community and profession. Qualifications
A master’s degree in interior design or closely related field by the appointment date from an accredited institution. Teaching experience in interior design as an instructor in higher education with evidence of teaching excellence and knowledge of various teaching modalities in higher education. Oral and written communication skills at a level appropriate to convey information to and from students, colleagues and others in a clear manner. Preferred Qualifications
Professional practice experience in Interior Design by date of hire, either having passed the NCIDQ exam or meeting eligibility requirements to take the exam Experience and competency in relevant industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Sketchup). WELL AP, NKBA or other relevant certification(s). Demonstrated evidence of coordinating undergraduate design labs/studios
