Sanitation Clerk
Location: Irvine, CA
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00pm – 5:30am (Flexibility to work weekends required)
Pay: starting at $20.25 per hour, plus $1.25 per hour night shift differential.
Job Summary The Sanitation Clerk is responsible for maintaining all food contact and non-food contact surfaces in the plant to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company and USDA standards. This position supports Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams by executing sanitation procedures, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and ensuring all sanitation processes meet regulatory and company requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Execute all
GMP
and
SSOP .
Perform proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and work areas.
Prepare chemical solutions at correct dilution ratios and ensure all chemicals are safely stored and secured.
Follow and enforce all
safety procedures , including the
Lock-Out/Tag-Out
program.
Support the QA team with
HACCP
and pre-operational inspections.
Maintain accurate and complete sanitation logs and records.
Assist with
pest control
and
cross-contamination prevention
programs.
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and QA departments to ensure safe, sanitary, and efficient operations.
Keep restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas in clean and sanitary condition.
Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment immediately.
Other Responsibilities
Promote health and safety in the workplace.
Lead by example in maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and PPE.
Manage water usage responsibly during cleaning processes.
Maintain a strong attendance record and demonstrate flexibility when needed for production demands.
Qualifications
Valid
Food Handler Certification
required.
Basic knowledge of food manufacturing, sanitation, and processing.
Ability to understand and communicate sanitation and inspection requirements.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow directions with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift up to
40 lbs
and work in varying temperature conditions (35°F – 85°F).
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and around cleaning chemicals, high-pressure hoses, and machinery.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to
25 lbs continuously ,
40 lbs frequently , and
50 lbs occasionally .
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and crouching.
Work in environments with temperature variations, high humidity, and moderate to high noise levels.
Continuous use of hands, arms, and proper protective equipment.
