Overview

TheMolab seeks to understand the mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders usingmolecular biology, genomic, biochemical, and computational approaches. We are broadly interested in two areas: 1) the impacts of somatic mutations in brain development and disease; and 2) the mechanisms of specific genetic causes of autism and intellectual disability. Ongoing projects include using induced pluripotent stem cells and neural progenitor cells tomodel somaticmosaicism, characterizing the distribution of somaticmosaicism in neurotypical and autism brains, and using single cell multiomic techniques to study specific subtypes of autism. We use a variety of techniques and materials such as next generation sequencing, cell culturemodels, postmortem human brain tissue, and computational tools. Job Description Summary
