Paralegal, Estate & Trust Administration

Trenam Law Trenam Law is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Estate Planning and Trust Administration practice. This role is critical to supporting our attorneys and clients in all phases of estate and trust administration, with a strong focus on responsiveness, efficiency, and delivery of excellent client service. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate sound judgment, and reflect Trenam’s commitment to collaboration and professional excellence. Key Responsibilities
Estate Administration
Prepare and file probate pleadings and related court documents. Assist in identifying, valuing, and collecting estate assets. Communicate with executors, beneficiaries, and financial institutions. Draft inventories, accountings, and reports required by the court and beneficiaries. Maintain calendars to ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and probate requirements.
Trust Administration
Support attorneys in the administration of revocable, irrevocable, and charitable trusts. Assist with trust funding, including preparation of transfer documents, assignments, and beneficiary designations. Track trust income, distributions, and expenses. Serve as a resource for trustees and beneficiaries on procedural and administrative matters.
Tax and Compliance
Assist with preparation of estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns. Coordinate with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to ensure compliance with federal and state tax obligations. Maintain organized files and tracking systems for deadlines.
Attorney and Client Support
Draft correspondence, memoranda, and legal documents. Provide case status updates and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items. Serve as a responsive and professional point of contact for clients, trustees, and beneficiaries. Uphold Trenam’s values of teamwork, client service, and accountability in all interactions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate required. Minimum of 3 years of estate and/or trust administration experience, preferably in a law firm setting. Strong knowledge of probate procedures, trust administration, and estate tax filings. Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high level of accuracy. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with estate/trust management or accounting software preferred. Attributes for Success at Trenam
