The program offers concentrations for students pursuing Pre-Health tracks (e.g., Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Veterinary, Pre-Podiatry, Pre-Optometry, Pre-Pharmacy), Pre-Physician Assistant, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, Pre-Athletic Training, and other related fields. The successful candidate will: Teach undergraduate courses within the Health Science Studies curriculum, enabling students to conduct and interpret research and apply evidence-based practice in their future health professions. Develop and maintain a robust externally funded research program with active undergraduate involvement in research projects. Engage in clinical, applied, or translational medical research, with emphasis on clinical disorders across systems such as cardiovascular, neurological, skeletal, and endocrine. Contribute to program development and collaboration within the department and across campus, including partnerships with Baylor Scott & White Health, Baylor College of Medicine, and other local clinical/research partners. Foster collaborations that enhance the translatability of pre-clinical research and align with existing strengths in cardiovascular and skeletal muscle biology. Demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate research engagement and experiential learning. Qualifications

Required: Earned doctorate (Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or equivalent) in a relevant biomedical, health sciences, or clinical field. Evidence of applied and/or translational research expertise in one or more targeted areas. Demonstrated potential for or a record of securing external research funding. Strong commitment to undergraduate research engagement and experiential learning. Preferred: Ability to perform diagnostic procedures (e.g., ultrasounds, computed tomography, muscle biopsies) for research applications. Ability to teach undergraduate students how to conduct and interpret research and apply evidence-based practice in their future health professions. Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience. Prior experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate students in research settings. Collaborative track record across disciplinary and institutional boundaries. Application Instructions
