Overview
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive EHS Manager to lead all aspects of occupational safety and environmental compliance at our high-volume bakery manufacturing facility located in Gainesville, Georgia. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, Georgia EPD, and corporate safety/environmental policies while driving a strong safety culture across the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage safety programs in compliance with OSHA standards and state/local safety regulations. Lead workplace hazard identification, job hazard analysis (JHA), and risk assessments. Conduct and oversee safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions. Manage core safety programs including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Machine guarding Confined spaces Entry Ergonomics & Repetitive Motion Prevention Fall Protection and Ladder Safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program Bloodborne Pathogens & First Aid readiness Collaborate with other departments to embed safety into operations. Stay current with Federal/State OSHA regulatory changes. Develop and deliver effective, tailored safety training programs for all employees and contractors, including new hire orientation, refresher training, and task and equipment-specific safety instruction. Lead Safety committee meetings ensuring employee involvement and feedback are integrated into safety improvement. Assist with emergency response preparedness, including evacuation planning, fire drills, and coordination with local EMS/Fire authorities. Maintain documentation and reporting related to safety metrics (TRIR, DART, Lost Time), incidents, and compliance obligations. Track and report safety metrics, OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301), and injury rates. Ensure site preparedness for regulatory inspection by OSHA, Fire Marshall, or other agencies. Ensure adherence to Georgia EPD and local environmental regulations (air, water, waste, stormwater, hazardous materials). Coordinate maintaining and updating environmental permits. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, climb ladders, or willing to use aerial lifts or scissor lifts. Competency
· Professional Certification(s) preferred: ASP (Associate Safety Professional) CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) Bilingual (English/Korean) communication skills Required
Bachelors degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in EHS roles within manufacturing (preferably food or related industries) Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards. Proven experience in injury prevention, compliance programs, and safety training. Proficient in EHS software tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Construction safety experience a plus.
