The College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville seeks a dynamic and engaging part-time Clinical Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to contribute to educating the next generation of health care professionals. About the Position This is a part-time faculty role that focuses on delivering high-quality undergraduate and/or graduate nursing education, including clinical supervision. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and collaboration on clinical placements and curriculum revisions. Appointments are made on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the College’s teaching needs. Duties Participate in the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of nursing academic programs. Teach graduate and undergraduate nursing courses as assigned. Supervise nursing students as assigned. Participate in the evaluation and ongoing enhancement of the curriculum. Apply evidence from best education practices to curriculum development and to teaching. Serve the College of Nursing, University, community and profession: participate in community and professional activities as appropriate. Contribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the College of Nursing and the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Collaborate effectively with other faculty and staff members within the College of Nursing and throughout the University and community to develop inter-professional academic, clinical, and research opportunities. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate (PhD or DNP) at time of appointment. Licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee prior to employment. Minimum of 3 years of nursing practice experience. Effective interpersonal skills and cultural competence. Ability to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues. Desirable Qualifications: Evidence of successful classroom and/or clinical teaching experience. Eligibility for APRN licensure in Tennessee. If teaching NP students, national certification as a nurse practitioner and prior to employment recognition by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as an advanced practice registered nurse. Experience with instructional media and technology. Rank and Appointment This position is open to those who qualify and can be appointed as one of the following ranks in the College of Nursing. Rank appointment is dependent on education and qualifications related to the university and college standards and will be determined by academic leadership in accordance with faculty handbook, policies, and procedures. Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor:

This rank is for those who have completed a doctoral or terminal degree appropriate to the field or who are licensed or certified to practice the profession where appropriate. Individuals holding this rank have shown promise for excellence in areas of responsibility recorded in the hiring unit’s workload distribution and responsibilities. Individuals holding this rank have demonstrated a consistent record of excellence in areas of responsibility recorded in the hiring unit’s workload distribution and responsibilities.
