Landscape Designer/Architect - High-End Residential (Central Indiana) Landscapes Unlimited, an award-winning leader in residential landscape design and build in Central Indiana since 1984, is seeking an experienced and passionate Landscape Designer/Architect. This pivotal role within our Design/Build Services team will translate client visions into stunning, functional, and sustainable outdoor environments. The ideal candidate thrives on exceeding client expectations through exceptional design, presentation, and technical expertise. Reporting directly to the V.P. of Design/Build Services, you will be a cornerstone of new sales, presenting Landscapes Unlimited's value proposition, your design expertise, and compelling proposals to our discerning clientele.

Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Design Development: Cultivate strong relationships with high-end residential clients, understand their needs, and translate them into unique design concepts.

Develop comprehensive design packages, including detailed planting plans, hardscape plans, section drawings, elevations, and perspective drawings.

Present design proposals with confidence, clearly communicating the vision and benefits of the proposed landscape to clients.

Apply extensive knowledge of plant materials to ensure aesthetic success and appropriate variety selection.

Demonstrate understanding of outdoor construction techniques (grading, drainage, retaining walls, pavers, concrete, steps, pergolas, pavilions, irrigation, turf) to inform practical, buildable designs.

Create detailed take-offs and contribute to accurate estimates within our system to support sales and project management.

Utilize CAD for high-quality 2D plans and 3D perspective drawings; leverage Photoshop for enhanced client presentations.

Collaborate with colleagues, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications

Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in a similar Landscape Designer/Architect role, focused on high-end residential projects.

Proven portfolio of diverse landscape designs and compelling presentations.

Excellent plant material knowledge, including identification and application.

Strong understanding of outdoor construction principles and materials.

Advanced proficiency in landscape design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Structure Studios VIP3D, VIP3D, Dynascape) and Adobe Photoshop.

Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time-management abilities with a track record of meeting deadlines.

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field preferred.
