Embraer . Job Description Performs avionics and electrical systems maintenance according to FCC, FAA, and Company Policies and Regulations. Troubleshoots, tests, repairs, and installs avionics components such as aircraft communication, navigation, radar, and electronic instrument systems. Operates and maintains test equipment and trade-associated tools. Job Responsibilities Performs routine or special maintenance inspections to prevent failure of aircraft electrical and avionic systems and components; performs complete operational and functional checks on navigation, communication, and flight control systems, including instrumentation and pilot static installations. Fabricates wiring harnesses, installs/modifies avionic and electrical systems. Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair schemes and the quantity and type of parts needed; secures same from Stores or departmental supplies. Follows approved maintenance procedures for the component or system, consulting FAA-approved internal procedures, OEM's technical data, and work package instructions. Inspects completed work before sign-off to identify rework needs; ensures repaired components meet standards and tolerances. Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using specified test equipment. Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing operations. Performs installation of digital avionic equipment. Interprets wiring diagrams, wire identification, harness fabrication, wiring, cable integrity, coax cables, fittings, and connector assemblies. Adjusts, repairs, or replaces malfunctioning components using hand tools and soldering iron. Installs electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft using hand tools, power tools, and soldering iron. Interprets flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic issues. Sets up and operates ground support and test equipment for functional flight tests. Tests components with circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters. Troubleshoots, repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, components, or systems. Education High School/GED Current FAA A&P or Repairman Certificate (Avionics). Desired: FCC License. Experience At least 5 years of recent depot-level aircraft avionics experience, including electrical systems, flight control systems, instrumentation, and wiring. Proficiency in wiring diagrams, harness fabrication, and circuits. Preferred: Experience in executive jet repair facilities. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of tasks within the technical area. Strong troubleshooting, installation, repair, equipment selection, and maintenance skills. Knowledge of FAA requirements and the ability to interpret technical instructions. Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements Ability to work safely, adhering to OSHA, EPA, and federal regulations. Must be able to wear a respirator if required. Flexible hours and shifts as needed; subject to FAA drug and alcohol testing. Seniority level
