Teaching expertise should complement existing faculty expertise and include upper division courses and contributions to general education.**Job Details**:The successful candidate will be able to teach an introductory Sex, Gender, & Health course, 1-2 additional courses in their area of expertise, and contribute offerings of Individual & Society as part of our general education program. An upper division course on a) reproductive health, b) gender, health, and disability, c) LGBTQ health, d) gender and multicultural/Indigenous health studies, e) gender and mental health/counseling, or f) gender, technology and health are among Women’s and Gender Studies strategic priorities. The candidate also will be expected to embrace the principles of diversity and inclusion as a member of the university community.**Responsibilities**:Full-Time teaching responsibilities include a 5/4 load. Required course offerings include the introductory Sex, Gender, and Health course, 1-2 upper-division courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, and offerings of Individual & Society as part of our general education program. Upper division courses could include classes on a) reproductive health, b) gender, health, and disability, c) LGBTQ health, d) gender and multicultural/Indigenous health studies, e) gender and mental health/counseling, or f) gender, technology and health, among others. Faculty at UW-W may be required to teach in a variety of formats, including in-person, online and/or in a hybrid format. All students, faculty, and staff are expected to ensure their materials are digitally accessible and utilize standard technology platforms supported by UW-Whitewater. Examples include, but are not limited to, Navigate, Canvas, and Microsoft Office applications – including Outlook, which is essential for university email communications and scheduling.**Department Information**:The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at UW-Whitewater is one of the longest-standing Women’s and Gender Studies programs in the Midwest. The first Women’s Studies course was taught in 1971, followed by the development of a minor in 1974, and a major in 1991.
