Summary
Reed City High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to assist the Varsity Wrestling program for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wrestling and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position requires effective communication skills, a strong understanding of wrestling techniques, and the ability to motivate and guide young athletes.
Responsibilities - Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions and training programs. - Provide instruction on wrestling techniques, strategies, and conditioning to student-athletes. - Help monitor the academic progress of wrestlers and promote a balance between athletics and academics. - Support the organization and execution of team events, including competitions, fundraisers, and community outreach activities. - Maintain a safe and positive training environment by enforcing safety protocols and sportsmanship standards. - Assist in the preparation of athletes for competitions, including weight management and mental readiness. - Collaborate with the head coach to evaluate athlete performance and provide feedback for improvement. - Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies and expectations. - Attend all practices, competitions, and team meetings as required.
Requirements - Previous experience in wrestling, either as a competitor or coach, is preferred. - Strong understanding of wrestling techniques and strategies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - CPR and First Aid certification is a plus. - Must be able to pass a background check. - Availability to work evenings and weekends during the wrestling season. - A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
