What’s on Your Plate: Job Title: Bakery Clerk Department: Bakery Reports To: Bakery Manager FLSA Status: Nonexempt Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service with knowledge of bakery products, prices, recipes, and uses. Assist customers with orders and suggestive selling. Weigh, wrap, and process customer orders. Answer phone calls and take orders as needed. Set up displays and merchandise to promote sales. Package, stock, display, and merchandise bakery goods per standards. Clean and sanitize bakery equipment, counters, display cases, and floors. Follow FIFO rotation system, label and date leftover products, and utilize leftovers before opening new products. Customer Service Skills: Provide extraordinary service that exceeds customer expectations, demonstrating respect, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Adapt easily to workplace changes. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED; or 3-6 months of related experience. Physical Demands: Stand for long periods, walk, use hands frequently, reach, climb, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
