The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies seeks qualified applicants to teach undergraduate courses on an as-needed basis in either philosophy or religious studies. Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies teach undergraduate courses according to their areas of expertise that support the department's undergraduate major program, one or more of the department's five undergraduate minors, and that support the university's general education curriculum. The availability of course assignments for Adjunct Faculty and the specific types of courses vary from semester to semester.
Responsibilities
The department seeks qualified individuals to teach undergraduate courses in philosophy or religious studies on an as-needed basis, in alignment with the department’s programs and the university general education curriculum. Course assignments and offerings vary by semester and must fit the instructor’s area of expertise.
Required Qualifications
All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience desirable; Strong communication skills; Experience assessing classes; Classroom management skills.

Applicants must submit an unofficial copy of transcripts of post-secondary course work with the application. If the applicant’s official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such, must be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post-secondary course work will be required upon selection for hire.
