Overview
As a Carvel Route Sales Delivery Driver, you will be fully responsible for the direct store delivery of quality products to our supermarket accounts. Key Accountabilities And Outcomes
Sales and Customer Service: Sells all products into all accounts, implements Carvel pricing strategies (including promotional pricing), and sells the Carvel program to new accounts. Relationship Management: Builds and maintains positive relationships with supermarket personnel, resolves product or service problems promptly, and ensures excellent customer relations. Merchandising: Executes merchandising standards and objectives at specific accounts; increases sales through promotions and displays. Record Keeping: Maintains an accurate record of all transactions using hand-held computer units. Product Handling and Maintenance: Performs preventive maintenance on supermarket freezers; manages and accurately tracks inventory; rotates product and maintains neat freezers. Transportation: Loads and unloads product from delivery truck; ensures safety by completing pre-trip safety and maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance. Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
Experienced (2+ years) in grocery, retail, food service or related industries in a direct sales, customer service, delivery, or other related position. Direct Store Delivery sales positions preferred. Prefer valid CDL Class B License (Must obtain CDL Class B License within 30 days of employment) and a clean driving record. Self-motivated, able to take initiative in decision making. Punctual and reliable in attendance; professional with strong organizational and communication skills. Solid general computer, math, and analysis skills. 21 years or older; High school diploma or GED. Willing and able to travel overnight up to 75% of the time. Physical Requirements
Driving required, with full DOT compliance; maintain DOT medical certification. Extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking; frequent climbing in and out of the vehicle; use of three-points of contact when climbing ladders or stairs. Lifting up to 55 pounds on a routine basis; pushing product carts up to 450 pounds fully loaded. Walk and roll product at customer locations; frequent exposure to outdoor weather and refrigerated temperatures below 0 degrees. Uniform and safety shoes provided; maintain alertness and work long hours starting early in the morning. Compensation
