Overview
The Government Guaranteed Lending (GGL) Sales Support Specialist is responsible for assisting GGL Officers and SBA Bankers with onboarding new SBA 7a, 504 and USDA opportunities. The GGL Sales Support Specialist is responsible for working directly with SBA, CDC and USDA as necessary to obtain loan approvals ensuring loans meet regulatory loan requirements.

Responsibilities
Assess borrowers, prospects and opportunities in the context of the loan type to determine what information is needed
Create borrower and prospect document needs lists
Collect, perform quality control checks, and organize financial information from customers and prospects
Onboard borrower and loan information to Ignite
Package loans for SBA/USDA and drive the loan to the closing process working with other SBA team members when needed
Ensure loans meet regulatory loan program requirements partnering with other SBA team members when needed
Spread and analyze borrower financial information, using experience and sound judgment to navigate gray areas where necessary
Work with lenders to create and develop credit memos for vetting and formal analysis
Communicate autonomously and independently with the SBA, CDC's and USDA as necessary to negotiate, clarify, and problem-solve with officials to obtain loan approvals. Has authority to make independent decisions as it relates to following SBA and USDA regulations and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals.
Cross sell other bank products and services to clients
Will be involved in occasional community activities
Attend and participate in all required Bank and Department meetings as requested
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:
Underwriting background, with the ability to spread financial information and prepare credit write-ups
Understanding of business and personal financial statements and tax returns
Understanding of loan covenants and loan documentation
Strong executive function skills. A person that is organized, detail oriented, and good with follow up.
Advanced organization and communication capabilities
Minimum:
A high school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of commercial loan support, lending, credit, special asset, and/or SBA background (lending, account management, packaging and closing, and/or underwriting)
Display professional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Working (intermediate) knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Technical knowledge and proficiency to handle the activities and responsibilities of job
Ability to work independently and maintain reasonable pace to complete assignments on time
Effectively communicate with SBA/USDA personnel, bank legal representatives, officers, and senior management
Client service orientation
Ability to effectively multi-task
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Preferred:
Familiarity with Renasant credit process and policy
Familiarity with Ignite/nCino
Bachelor's degree
Fluency in SBA and/or USDA SOPs, program eligibility, credit criteria and loan structure requirements
2 years of experience in SBA lending
Commercial construction lending experience
