Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shop Cost Analyst to join our team. This role will support cross-functional business partners, perform in-depth variance analysis, and drive data-informed operational decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a collaborative mindset and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Shop Cost Analyst supports financial planning, reporting, and variance analysis of TTX’s Repair Shop Operations located in Mira Loma, CA. This role is responsible for managing the monthly close process, forecasting, performing cost analysis, and metrics tracking. The Analyst collaborates closely with Shop Management and corporate teams – including Finance, Supply Chain and Equipment – to deliver timely, actionable insights and maintain financial accuracy across operations. Key Responsibilities
Preparation of the month end financial close, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Develop and update cost tracking tools to analyze spending and forecast costs. Perform variance analysis on labor, materials, and overhead to identify cost trends and support performance reviews. Provide regular updates to Shop Management on expenses compared to forecasts to help manage spending. Assist the Shop Finance Manager with the Four-Year Plan and quarterly Board Forecasts by gathering data, building reports, and analyzing variances. Ensure accuracy of financial data across ERP and reporting systems; help identify issues and improve related processes. Support ad hoc analysis and financial deep dives as requested by Shop Management or corporate finance teams. Assist with continuous improvement efforts in financial reporting and operational efficiency. Required Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated ability to interpret financial and operational data. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling) and PowerPoint. Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred). Ability to manage and reconcile data from multiple sources and financial systems. Clear understanding of how to manage costs, analyze differences, and plan budgets and forecasts. Strong communication skills; able to present financial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Preferred Skills
Experience in operational finance, manufacturing, or shop environment. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Exposure to financial process improvements, change initiatives, or automation projects. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or general accounting. Experience working in a matrixed organization and cross-functional teams is a plus. Physical Job Requirements
