DyStar is a leading specialty chemical company with a global presence. We have an immediate need for a Cost Accountant in our Americas Regional Headquarters located in Charlotte, NC. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Finance Manager, Sales and Operations. We are seeking an individual who will contribute to the success of DyStar by ensuring Operational Financial Support for Multiple Plants and Warehouses, in order to support future growth, scalability, and profitability of the company.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare production efficiencies reports and analyze variances to bill of materials assumptions
Support Month end closing, PPV/manufacturing variance analysis and reporting
Support Forecast and budgeting (Cost Center, Capex, Site Cost, Sales & Product Planning)
Assist in annual plant budget and quarterly / monthly Forecast and KPIs tracking
Assist in plant standard cost setting and capitalized variance adjustments
Work with plant management to ensure BOM and routings are correct and updated timely
Analyze plant and warehouse operating costs, as well as material & freight costs
Assist in monthly accounting close duties – journal entries, account analysis & reconciliation
Assist in accurate inventory controls, including cycle counting and annual physical inventory
Assist in calculating inventory reserves and LCM adjustments on company policies
Assist in tracking and analyzing of operational efficiencies and productivity projects
Assist in Fixed Assets & depreciation recording and CIP tracking
Assist in product profitability analysis
Maintain good records & controls, and prepare documentation requirements by auditors
Prepare Ad Hoc reports and perform other assigned duties
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance related required 2 years of experience in analytical / cost accounting positions Prior experience in managing cost accounting principles and methodologies Advanced Excel skills and ERP standard costing experience preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams Attention to detail and strong analytical skills Strong team player and business partner Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Self-starter with a desire to learn and achieve with change management skills preferred This is an on-site role in Charlotte, NC; not open to remote or hybrid work.
