The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities

Independently compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries Perform various account reconciliations and maintain balance sheet reconciliation records Read and understand the general ledger, including cash and credit card reconciliations Submit monthly accounting close entries Assist with fixed asset tracking and maintenance Create and/or edit financial reports within accounting/finance software Prepare financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and departments Ensure transactions comply with GAAP and internal policies and procedures Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports Communicate financial information to department heads and maintain interdepartmental relationships Present financial information monthly to the CFO and respond to inquiries Research and interpret data to answer accounting and financial questions Meet all deadlines in accordance with the closing schedule set by management Assist in preparing audit work papers and participate in internal, external, and regulatory audits Perform other duties as necessary Skills to Help You Succeed

Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results Problem-solving skills in complex financial scenarios Ability to work under time pressures in an interruptive environment Maintain mental concentration for extended periods Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Knowledge of gaming regulations and generally accepted accounting principles Willingness to work a varied schedule due to multiple deadlines and tasks Qualifications

Must-Haves: At least 2 years of experience in finance operations A 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience; CPA preferred Ability to work in an environment with alcohol and smoking Must be able to secure and maintain licensure as required by the Virginia Gaming Control Board or other regulatory bodies What We Offer
